Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 12, 2026
Liftyx is a workout tracker for iPhone and iPad. This policy explains what data the app handles and the choices you have. The short version: your workout data stays on your device, and the anonymous usage and crash data we collect can be turned off in Settings at any time.
1. Who we are
Liftyx ("we", "us") develops and publishes the Liftyx app for iOS and iPadOS and this website. For any privacy question or request, contact us at privacy@liftyx.app.
2. Data stored on your device
- Your workouts, exercises, templates, sets, reps, weights, statistics, and preferences (for example weight units) are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework.
- This data is not sent to us. Liftyx has no user accounts and no Liftyx cloud service. We cannot see, access, or recover your workout data.
- You can delete everything inside the app via Settings → Manage workouts → Reset app data, or by deleting the app from your device.
- Device backups (iCloud Backup or computer backups) are created by your device under your control and Apple's settings. They may include app data; managing or deleting those backups is done through your device settings.
3. Optional usage analytics
If enabled, Liftyx sends anonymous product analytics to help us understand which features are used and how to improve the app. This can be turned off at any time via Settings → Privacy → Share usage data. When the toggle is off, the analytics software is shut down and nothing is sent.
What is collected
- Product interaction events, such as "workout started", "workout completed", "workout discarded", "template created", "exercise created", and when you change the units setting.
- Basic app and device context: app version, device model, operating system version, and locale.
- A rotating, non-reversible pseudonymous identifier for the installation. It is derived through a salted, double-hashed process, is not your Apple ID, is not the advertising identifier (IDFA), and cannot be used to identify you or to track you across apps or websites.
What is not collected
- No workout contents: no exercise names, weights, reps, or notes.
- No name, email address, phone number, or other contact details.
- No precise location data.
- No advertising identifier and no cross-app or cross-website tracking.
Provider: TelemetryDeck GmbH (Augsburg, Germany), which processes the signals on our behalf on servers in the European Union. Learn more in the TelemetryDeck privacy policy.
Why (legal basis): we process this information based on our legitimate interest in understanding app usage and improving the app (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You can object at any time by turning the setting off; we honor that immediately.
4. Crash and performance reports
To find and fix crashes, the app can send crash diagnostics and basic performance data. This collection is tied to the same "Share usage data" toggle as above and is off when you disable it.
- What is collected: crash logs and stack traces, error diagnostics, device model, operating system version, app version, and performance timings (for example, app launch).
- What is not collected: your workout data or any content you create in the app. The reporting SDK is configured not to send personally identifiable information, and no account information exists to link reports to a person.
- Provider: Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.), used with a European Union data region. See the Sentry privacy policy.
- Why (legal basis): our legitimate interest in keeping the app stable and secure (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
5. What we don't do
- We don't require or offer user accounts, and we don't ask for your email address.
- We don't show ads and don't include advertising SDKs.
- We don't track you across other apps or websites, and we don't use the advertising identifier. Apple defines this as "no tracking", and the app declares that in its privacy manifest.
- We don't sell your data, and we don't share it with anyone except the service providers described above.
6. Sharing
The only companies that process data for us are TelemetryDeck GmbH (usage analytics) and Sentry/Functional Software, Inc. (crash and performance reports). They act as our processors, are bound by their agreements with us, and process the data only for the purposes described in this policy. We may disclose information if required by law.
7. Retention
Data on your device remains until you delete it. Analytics signals and crash reports are retained by our providers only as long as needed for the purposes described above, in line with their standard retention settings. When you disable "Share usage data", no new data is sent.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (for example under the GDPR in the EU/UK, or under applicable US state privacy laws, including the right to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" — which we do not do).
Because analytics and crash data are not linked to your identity, we may not be able to find records belonging to you. You can always:
- Turn off "Share usage data" in Settings to stop all data collection.
- Reset or delete your on-device data in the app or by deleting the app.
- Contact us at privacy@liftyx.app and we will help with your request, including forwarding deletion requests to our providers where applicable.
9. Children
Liftyx is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has used the app in a way that provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
10. International transfers
Our analytics providers process data in the European Union. Where any transfer outside the EU/EEA occurs, it is covered by appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions.
11. This website
This website is a set of static pages. It sets no cookies and includes no analytics or third-party scripts. It is hosted on GitHub Pages; GitHub may process basic technical data (such as IP addresses in server logs) as described in the GitHub privacy statement.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time, for example if the app gains new features. The current version will always be available at this page, and we will update the date at the top.
